Douglas W. Schnitzer

Douglas W. Schnitzer is founding partner and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Senterra Real Estate Group, L.L.C., a real estate company responsible for the leasing and management of over 5 million square feet of office space. Senterra is also involved in property acquisition and development of commercial real estate.

Also, Schnitzer is President of Schnitzer Senterra Inc., which is the parent company of the general partner or managing partner in numerous entities involving real estate, automobile dealerships and various operating companies on the Houston Ship Channel.

In 1985, he was responsible for the negotiation and execution of the record-breaking Enron Corporation lease. The transaction involved more than 1 million square feet and over $250 million in rental income, making it the largest single office lease ever signed in the City of Houston.

While at Century, Schnitzer had marketing responsibility for more than 14 million square feet of office space in Houston and San Antonio. Overall marketing responsibility included Allen Center, First Interstate Bank Plaza, Greenway Plaza, and the NBC Bank Plaza.

Schnitzer was President of U.S. Commercial Brokerage, a wide-ranging brokerage company involved throughout the country in the acquisition and disposition of varied real estate properties.

In addition to his real estate involvement and development, Schnitzer is responsible for the acquisition of over 2,000 acres on the Houston Ship Channel and the financing and operation of a major automated bagging facility known as Jacintoport Terminal.

One of the Schnitzer familyÕs most visible assets was its interest in the 4 million square foot mixed-use development project known as Greenway Plaza.  Schnitzer was responsible for negotiating and structuring the sale of Greenway in October 1996, to Crescent Real Estate Equities Company, a publicly traded REIT founded by Mr. Richard Rainwater.

Mr. Schnitzer has been a member of the Board of Trust Managers for Weingarten Reality Investors since 1985. Weingarten is a $1.2 billion publicity traded real estate investment trust which is listed on the New York stock exchange.

Schnitzer graduated from the University of Arizona in 1978 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.
